Historia

En el año 1982 los misioneros Estadounidenses Arnold (Arnie) y Sally (Sara) Selfors llegaron a Montevideo después de pasar 25 años como misioneros en Bolivia. La primer reunión se llevó a cabo el primer domingo del mes de Julio de ese mismo año, en su propia casa a la cual asistieron 5 personas. Este primer grupo siguió creciendo y viendo la necesidad de mayor espacio, se alquiló un templo en la calle Lieja y Arocena para poder congregarnos. Luego de varios años de oración por un local propio, el Señor nos respondió por medio de hermanos norteamericanos quienes aportaron el dinero necesario para efectuar la compra y en el año 1987 se procedió a comprar el local ubicado en la calle Comercio 2275 esquina Justo Maeso. Este local ha sido de enorme bendición y continúa siendo nuestro punto de encuentro. En este mismo año se consiguió la personería jurídica. Llegado el año 1990 los misioneros Jerry y DeAnna Olson llegaron desde EEUU para trabajar en esta iglesia y lo hicieron hasta el año 1994. Arnie y Sara Selfors después de 14 años de ministerio en Uruguay (en el año 1996) tuvieron que dejar su ministerio en el Uruguay y Enrique Pereira aceptó ser el pastor de la iglesia. Su trabajo cesó en el año 2001. La iglesia siguio siendo dirigida por el concilio (éste es integrado por cuatro miembros previamente votados y su cargo dura dos años).

Desde noviembre del año 2007 contamos con dos pastores que despues de terminar su bachillerato en Teologia nos sirven a tiempo completo, sus nombres son Gustavo vergara y Fernando Matzner.

In the year 1982 the American missionaries Arnold and Sally Selfors came to Montevideo after spending 25 years as missionaries in Bolivia. The first meeting was on the first Sunday of July, the same year. It took place in their own house and a total of five people came to it. This first group, kept growing and having in mind the need for a bigger place, they rented a place in Lieja and Arocena St. to congregate in that place. After several years of prayer for our own place, the Lord answered us through the brothers and sisters who gave the financial support to buy the place. In the year 1987 we proceed to buy the building which is in 2275 Comercio St. This building has been a great blessing and continues to be our meeting point. In that same year we were incorporated. By the year 1990 the American missionaries Jerry and DeAnna Olson came to work in this church till 1994. After 14 years of ministry in Uruguay, by the year 1996 Arnold and Sally & Arnie Selfors had to leave their ministry in Uruguay and Enrique Pereira accepted to be the church's pastor. His work ceased in 2001. The church was directed by the church board (this board is formed by four members previously elected and their positions are changed every two years)
Since november of 2007 Gustavo Vergara and Fernando Matzner are serving us as full time pastors. They graduated with Bachillers degree in Theology and we are so thanksfull to God for their commitment and service.

El ministerio para mujeres es dirigido por Ricki Anne Zanella (misionera desde EEUU) y Marisa Figueroa, ellas organizan diferentes actividades que van desde estudios bíblicos hasta hacer tarjetas de navidad para recaudar fondos para misiones. Women´s ministry is lead by Ricki Anne Zanella who is a missionary from USA, and Marisa Figueroa. They organize different activities like Bible studies or making Christmas Cards with the purpose of raising founds for missions. If you are a woman you are more than welcome to come to our next activity, please contact us for more information.

Adolescentes

Un nuevo puente entre los niños y los jóvenes ha sido establecido... Este es el segundo año que funciona el ministerio de adolescentes con rápido crecimiento. Vamos a divertirnos y a aprender desde las verdades bíblicas, grandes lecciones y concejos sabios aplicables para sus vidas. Cada sábado a las 15:00 hs aquí en Iglesia Bíblica de Gracia. No te pierdas esta gran oportunidad.

Grupos de Amistad

Como en los tiempo bíblicos en donde los cristianos “se reunían en las casas”, estamos propagando la palabra de Dios y haciéndola llegar a diferentes hogares de nuestro Barrio. La visión con los grupos de amistad (grupos celulares), es poder alcanzar a toda persona, otorgándole la posibilidad de conocer a Cristo y aprender de él en un entorno diferente. También compartimos hermosos momentos de compañerismo, adoración con música, mensajes bíblicos y de la vida de aquellos que forman parte de éstos grupos.

Like biblical times in which the Christian people “got together in their homes”, we are reaching out with God's Word and taking it to different homes of our neighborhood. The friendship group's vision is to reach new people, giving them the opportunity to know Jesus and learn from Him in a different environment. We also share great fellowship times, worshiping with music, biblical messages and personal matters from the lives of those who attend these groups.

Grupo de Adoracíon

Éste grupo se reúne todos los sábados para ensayar el programa de la semana y trabajar en nuevas canciones. Su propósito es ayudar a la congregación dirigiéndola en la adoración y alabanza a Dios a través de la música.

Los músicos ponen sus dones al servicio de Cristo y la iglesia tratando de fomentar que todos alaben al Señor. El enfoque principal de su actividad se lleva a cabo en la celebración dominical y en el Grupo de Jóvenes.

En ocasiones ministrará en servicios especiales y con iglesias hermanas que nos inviten.

Worship Team - English

This team gets together every staurday to rehearse the weekly program and work on new songs.Its purpose is to help the congregation into praise and worship to God through the music. The vocalist as well as the musicians, pour their gifts at the service of Christ and the church, motivating and fomenting the praise of God.The primary focus of its activity takes place at the sunday celebration and the youth group. In ocations, we help ministring in sepcial services, or with other churches.

Celebración Dominical

Nada mejor que una gran celebración para cantar y alabar a Dios con música y canciones, aprender y crecer con grandes consejos Bíblicos que se dan a través del mensaje predicado y compartir juntos esas experiencias maravillosas que Dios hace en nuestras vidas en el tiempo de “Bendiciones”.

Los invitamos a participar de esta celebración, cada domingo a las 18:00 horas.

Sunday Celebration - English

Nothing better than a great celebration to praise God with music and songs. Learn and grow with biblical tips given through the message preached and sharing together those incredible things God has done in our lives in the “Blessings” time. Come and join us in this celebration, every Sunday 6:00 P.M.

Jóvenes

Una nueva generación para Cristo se está levantando. Jóvenes dispuestos a explorar caminos diferentes a lo que propone esta sociedad. Emprender esa clase de desafíos de la mano de Dios es lo que planteamos cada semana en el Grupo de Jóvenes.

Nuestro objetivo es poder brindar a cada joven las herramientas y consejos bíblicos precisos para saber como vivir a pleno la vida en los tiempos que corren. Interrogantes al mundo actual que merecen una respuesta desde el punto de vista cristiano.

Te animamos a experimentar un nuevo reto para tu vida, cada sábado, 20:30 horas en el Grupo de Jóvenes, un ministerio hecho por vos y para vos.

Youth Group - English

A new generation is standing up for Jesus. Youth people ready to explore different ways to what this society offers to them. To begin this kind of challenge with God, is what we propose every week at the Youth Group.
Our goal is to bring to the youth people, tools and precise biblical tips to know how to live this life in the present times we are going through. Questions of the actual world that deserves an answer from the Christian point of view.
We want to encourage you to experience this new challenge for your life.
Every Saturday 8:30 P.M. al the Youth Group. A ministry made by and for you.

Niños:

Porque los niños son importantes para Dios... “OANSA”.

Cristo dijo: “Dejad a los niños venir a mi...” En la Biblia vemos que ellos son de gran importancia para Jesús y deben serlo para nosotros también.

Este ministerio tiene como propósito formar valores cristianos desde temprana edad en la generación del mañana. Los niños crecen y se edifican con clases didácticas y divertidas, con juegos, canciones y muchas actividades más. “OANSA” se lleva adelante cada Sábado 12:00 horas.

OANSA funciona de la mano de un comedor totalmente gratuito donde los niños pueden disfrutar de ricas comidas. El comedor es una forma practica de mostrar el amor de Dios, especialmente a los mas necesitados.

Si eres menor de 12 años, entonces OANSA y el comedor son tu lugar!

AWANA CLUB - English

Because kids matter to God... “AWANA”. Jesus said : “Let the childrens come to me...” We can see in the Bible that Kids are important to God and they are important to us as well. The purpose of this ministry is to teach them to love God and teach them christians values from the Bible.

The kids grow with fun, games and the Bible lessons according to their age.
Every Saturday at 12:00 pm With AWANA we have a “comedor” which is a free meal for teh kids. It´s a good opportunity to show God´s love to them.

If you are under 12 you are more than welcome!

Reunión de oración

Uno de los desafíos más sorprendentes de la vida cristiana es la oración. Cada vez que oramos ¡hablamos con Dios! Cuando nos comunicamos con Dios, le alabamos, le decimos que lo necesitamos y compartimos con El las peticiones mas profundas de nuestro corazón. Dios esta esperando escuchar tus palabras y atento para responder a tus oraciones.

Aparte de la oración individual de cada creyente, separamos un tiempo semanal para orar como un solo cuerpo. La oración permite que hablemos directo con nuestro Padre celestial y nos recuerda que Él es el dueño y autor de toda obra en nosotros y de nuestra misma iglesia. La oración también es el lubricante que mantiene la unidad entre los hermanos.

Creemos que la oración puede marcar un cambio en su vida. Venga a experimentar junto a nosotros el poder de la oración, sea parte de esta gran aventura cada Domingo a las 16:45 hs.

Prayer Meeting - English

One of the biggest challenges in the Christian life is the prayer. Every time we pray, we talk to God!
When we communicate to God, we praise him, we tell him the things we need and we share with him the deepest desires of our heart. God is waiting to hear our words, and He is ready to answer to your prayers. Apart from the individual prayer of each believer, we separate a time in the week to pray as “one body”. The prayer allow us to talk directly to our Heavenly Father and, it reminds us He is the Lord and Author of every good work in us and our church.
We believe prayer can make a change in your life. Come with us, to experience the power of the prayer, be part of this great adventure every Sunday at 4:45 P.M.
